Courier supported the [[Post Office Protocol|POP3]], [[Internet Message Access Protocol|IMAP]] and [[Simple Mail Transfer Protocol|SMTP]] protocols, provided several features for HTML security and allowed to use multiple e-mail accounts from one mailbox.
