==Design==
The Sun Way 28 is a recreational [[Engineering:Keelboat|keelboat]], built predominantly of [[Chemistry:Fiberglass|fiberglass]], with wood trim. It has a [[Engineering:Fractional rig|fractional]] [[Engineering:Sloop|sloop]] rig, with [[Chemistry:Aluminum|aluminum]] spars with [[Chemistry:Stainless steel|stainless steel]] wire rigging. The hull has a raked stem, a rounded reverse transom, an internally mounted spade-type [[Engineering:Rudder|rudder]] controlled by a [[Engineering:Tiller|tiller]] and a fixed fin [[Engineering:Keel|keel]] or optional stub keel and centerboard. The fin keel model displaces {{convert|5291|lb|kg|0|abbr=on}} and carries {{convert|1764|lb|kg|0|abbr=on}} of ballast, while the centerboard version displaces {{convert|5732|lb|kg|0|abbr=on}} and has twin rudders.<ref name="Data"/><ref name="DataCB"/><ref name="Guide"/><ref name="GuideCB"/>

The design has sleeping accommodation for four people, with a double "V"-berth in the bow cabin, a U-shaped settee around a drop-leaf table in the main cabin and an aft cabin with a double berth on the port side. The [[Engineering:Galley (kitchen)|galley]] is located on the port side just forward of the [[Engineering:Companionway|companionway]] ladder. The galley is L-shaped and is equipped with a two-burner stove, an ice box and a sink. A navigation station is opposite the galley, on the starboard side.
