The '''Skunk 11''' is a Canadian utility [[Engineering:Dinghy|dinghy]] that can be [[Engineering:Rowing|rowed]], used as  a [[Engineering:Motorboat|motorboat]], fishing boat or as a sailing dinghy. ==Design==
The Skunk 11 is a recreational [[Engineering:Sailboat|sailboat]], built predominantly of fibreglass, with wood trim. It is a [[Engineering:Gunter rig|Gunter rig]]ged [[Engineering:Sloop|sloop]] with a free-standing mast, [[Chemistry:Aluminum|aluminum]] spars, a raked stem, plumb [[Engineering:Transom (nautical)|transom]], a transom-hung [[Engineering:Rudder|rudder]] made from [[Biology:Mahogany|mahogany]] controlled by a [[Engineering:Tiller|tiller]] and a retractable fibreglass [[Engineering:Centreboard|centreboard]]. The rudder and centreboard are "kick up" designs. It displaces {{convert|190|lb|kg|0|abbr=on}}.<ref name="Data"/><ref name="Sherwood"/>

The boat has a draft of {{convert|2.50|ft|m|abbr=on}} with the centreboard extended and {{convert|0.50|ft|m|abbr=on}} with it retracted, allowing [[Engineering:Beaching (nautical)|beaching]] or ground transportation on a [[Engineering:Boat trailer|trailer]] or car roof rack.<ref name="Data"/>

The boat may also be rowed and is equipped with oarlocks for that role. The transom is reinforced so the boat can be fitted with a small [[Engineering:Outboard motor|outboard motor]] of up to {{convert|5|hp|kW|0|abbr=on}} for employment as a motorboat.<ref name="Data"/>

==Operational history==
In a 1994 review Richard Sherwood wrote, the "Skunk is a light, easily transported boat. Because of the gunter rig, all spars will fit inside the boat. There are no stays. The Super Skunk is Marconi rigged and has an extra 10 square feet of mainsail. Besides sailing, the Skunk may be used for fishing, as an outboard, or as a rowboat."<ref name="Sherwood"/>
