The Chevette was a variation of the [[Engineering:GM T platform (1973)|General Motors T-car]] platform which includes [[Engineering:Opel Kadett#Kadett C .281973.E2.80.931979.29|Opel Kadett]], [[Engineering:Chevrolet Chevette|Chevrolet Chevette]] and [[Engineering:Isuzu Gemini#First generation (1974)|Isuzu Gemini]]. Offered as a 2-door sedan and as a 4-door sedan, it was powered by a 1.6-liter [[Engineering:Overhead camshaft|overhead camshaft]] engine with a 1.8-liter [[Company:Isuzu|Isuzu]] diesel engine available as an option. The Chevette was the only sedan car to be badged as a GMC.
