In [[Earth:Planetary geology|planetary geology]], a '''mensa''' {{IPAc-en|'|m|E|n|s|@}} (pl. '''mensae''' {{IPAc-en|'|m|E|n|s|iː}}) is a flat-topped prominence with cliff-like edges.<ref name="Gazetteer">{{cite web|title=Descriptor Terms (Feature Types)|url=https://planetarynames.wr.usgs.gov/DescriptorTerms|website=Gazetteer of Planetary Nomenclature|publisher=USGS|access-date=11 February 2017}}</ref> The term is derived from the [[Social:Latin|Latin]] word for table, and has the same root as the [[Social:Spanish language|Spanish]] word for table, mesa.
