The Company was founded in 2001 by Britney K. Brimhall and Christopher T. AGDI's first release was a critically acclaimed point-and-click remake of ''King's Quest I: Quest for the Crown'', released for download free of charge on August 8, 2001.<ref name="AGD Interactive"/> This remake is known as ''King's Quest I VGA''. This remake is known as King's Quest II+: Romancing the Stones. The game is not a 1:1 remake and is not a complete overhaul like KQ2+ was, but features more fleshed-out characters, new areas, and puzzles not seen in the original Sierra version.

Until early 2002, the AGDI development team was working on a VGA remake of ''Space Quest II: Vohaul's Revenge''. Due to the lead programmer's disappearance, the development team did not have the resources required for both the ''Space Quest II'' remake and the ''King's Quest II'' remake, and the ''Space Quest II'' remake was put on indefinite hold. A small 3-room demo was released to show the progress up to the point when it was canceled. [[Company:Infamous Adventures|Infamous Adventures]], another development team that remakes classic Sierra games, released a remake in December 2011.
