'''Diapheromerinae''' is a subfamily of the stick insect family [[Biology:Diapheromeridae|Diapheromeridae]]. They belong to the [[Biology:Taxonomic rank|superfamily]] Anareolatae of suborder [[Biology:Verophasmatodea|Verophasmatodea]].<ref name = psg2009>PSG (2009)</ref>

The family contains the huge ''Paraphanocles keratosqueleton'', often discussed under its obsolete name<ref>''[[Biology:Bostra (moth)|Bostra]]'' is actually the name for a [[Biology:Genus|genus]] of [[Biology:Pyralini|Pyralini]] snout moths</ref> ''Bostra maxwelli'' and known as godhorse or hag's horse in Barbados. It belongs to the typical [[Biology:Tribe|tribe]] of Diapheromerinae, the [[Biology:Diapheromerini|Diapheromerini]]. It grows to over 30&nbsp;cm (12&nbsp;in) long and is known for its slow-moving stick-like appearance. In ''A-Z of Barbados Heritage'', the [[Biology:Species|species]] is discussed thus:
