'''14 Cancri''' is a [[Astronomy:Star|star]] in the northern [[Astronomy:Zodiac|zodiac]] [[Astronomy:Constellation|constellation]] of [[Astronomy:Cancer (constellation)|Cancer]]. It can be referred to as ψ Cancri, very occasionally as '''ψ<sup>2</sup> Cancri''', to distinguish it from [[Astronomy:13 Cancri|13 Cancri]] which is sometimes called ψ<sup>1</sup> Cancri.<ref name=xref/> It is just barely visible to the naked eye, having an [[Astronomy:Apparent visual magnitude|apparent visual magnitude]] of +5.73.<ref name=Argue1966/> Based upon an annual [[Astronomy:Stellar parallax|parallax shift]] of 24.18&nbsp;mas as seen from Earth,<ref name=vanLeeuwen2007/> it is located 135&nbsp;[[Light year|light year]]s from the [[Astronomy:Sun|Sun]]. It may be a member of the Wolf 630 [[Astronomy:Moving group|moving group]] of stars.<ref name=McDonald1983/>

This object has a [[Astronomy:Stellar classification|stellar classification]] of G7&nbsp;V,<ref name=Cowley1979/> which would suggest it is a [[Astronomy:G-type main-sequence star|G-type main-sequence star]]. However, Jofré et al. (2015) consider it to be a more [[Astronomy:Stellar evolution|evolved]] subgiant star due to a [[Physics:Surface gravity|surface gravity]] of log&nbsp;''g''&nbsp;=&nbsp;3.87. As such, it has an estimated 1.5 times the mass of the Sun and 3.2 times the Sun's radius. The star is 2.4 billion years old with what appears to be a leisurely rotation rate, judging by a projected rotational velocity of 0.98&nbsp;km/s. It is radiating eight times the Sun's luminosity from its [[Astronomy:Photosphere|photosphere]] at an [[Astronomy:Effective temperature|effective temperature]] of 5,311&nbsp;K.<ref name=Jofre2015/>
