It has an [[Astronomy:Apparent magnitude|apparent magnitude]] of 4.92, which is bright enough to be seen with the naked eye. Based upon [[Astronomy:Stellar parallax|parallax]] measurements, this star is located about 50 [[Astronomy:Light-year|light-year]]s from the [[Astronomy:Sun|Sun]].<ref name="vanLeeuwen2007"/> It is moving further from the Sun with a heliocentric [[Astronomy:Radial velocity|radial velocity]] of +20&nbsp;km/s.<ref name=aj133_6_2524/>

This star has a [[Astronomy:Stellar classification|stellar classification]] of G4&nbsp;V,<ref name=aj133_6_2524/> which suggests it is an ordinary [[Astronomy:G-type main-sequence star|G-type main-sequence star]] that is generating energy through hydrogen fusion at its [[Astronomy:Stellar core|stellar core]]. This discrepancy may indicate that the star has undergone a period of mass accretion.
